Agenda posted November 16, 2023

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has picked up her first win of the 2024 primary season in Washington, DC. The former South Carolina governor garnered nearly 63-percent of the vote and on Sunday became the first woman to win a Republican primary in U.S. history.        It's possible former President Trump's ballot battle in Colorado could be decided in just hours. The Supreme Court plans to release at least one ruling as soon as 10 a.m. Eastern. Many believe this could be whether he's eligible to run for office.        President Biden will deliver his State of the Union address Thursday where he'll play up the work his administration has done on things like infrastructure. A preview of the speech says the President will outline how he's making the wealthy pay their fair share. He'll also push other policies that could pick up support from both sides of the aisle, like helping veterans and fighting cancer.        Heavy snow is crippling California highways and creating life-threatening conditions around Lake Tahoe. One wind gust was clocked at 190 miles per hour. More than a hundred miles of Interstate-80 remained closed Sunday from the Nevada border.        Pope Francis is urging for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza to provide aid and to secure the release of hostages. Speaking in his Sunday address, the Pope said the people of Palestine and Israel are suffering due to the war between Israel and Hamas. He asked if leaders believe they can really build a better world this way and if they think they can really achieve peace.       NASA and SpaceX are celebrating the successful launch of the Crew-8 mission to the International Space Station. Unfavorable conditions prompted officials to scrub Saturday's scheduled launch attempt on Florida's Space Coast. The SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour atop a Falcon 9 booster took off from launch complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center Sunday night carrying three NASA astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut.
