President Biden and House Speaker McCarthy are hitting the phones today to sell the debt ceiling deal they struck to holdouts within their respective parties. The House is expected to vote Wednesday on the bipartisan deal that raises the nation's debt limit for the next two years. It then needs to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate before the June 5th deadline to act or risk default.       Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is set to head out on his first presidential campaign tour this week. DeSantis formally entered the race for the White House last week. He is expected to visit a dozen cities throughout Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.       Russia claims drones hit Moscow residential areas for first time since Russia invaded Ukraine. The mayor of Moscow says the strikes today caused damage to some buildings and forced residents to evacuate homes. It comes four weeks after Russia claimed drones targeted the Kremlin, in what it says was an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin.       The 2023 NBA Finals matchup is now set. The Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets will take on the Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat for the NBA title. Miami cruised to a 103-84 win over the Boston Celtics Monday in Game Seven of the East Finals at TD Garden. Nikola Jokic [[ yo-kitch ]] and the Nuggets will host Jimmy Butler and the Heat for Game One of the NBA Finals on Thursday night at Denver's Ball Arena.        Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will sign a recreational marijuana bill into law today. The proposal lets those 21 and older have up to two pounds of marijuana at home and two ounces elsewhere. The bill does not legalize public consumption of marijuana. The proposal also expunges the sentences of residents convicted of marijuana crimes.        This Friday will be the one-month mark for the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, which shows no signs of reaching a conclusion. Hollywood screenwriters called a strike for the first time in 15 years after negotiations stalled over increased pay for some eleven-thousand-500 union members.
