Voters are hitting the polls today in five states where primary elections are being held. Both President Biden and former President Trump have already passed their respective parties' delegate threshold but voters will still make their voices heard in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, and Ohio. The case centers around a California woman convicted of transporting drugs into the U.S. after a government expert witness was used to disprove the woman's claim she didn't know she was carrying drugs. Lower courts have been split on the matter as to whether such expert testimony should be allowed to make generalizations about so-called "blind mules" smuggling drugs.    Americans are reaching out to the State Department for help in Haiti, where gang violence has plunged the Caribbean nation into chaos. A State Department spokesperson says hundreds have filled out crisis intake forms online, as the U.S. tries to get people out on chartered flights.    The Minnesota Court of Appeals is siding with a woman who was denied emergency contraception by a pharmacist in 2019. The court ruled Monday that the pharmacist's denial of the morning-after pill amounted to gender discrimination.    Gas prices are creeping up. Today's national average is three-48 a gallon, up from yesterday's three-46, according to Triple-A. At this time last week, prices were just shy of three-40.    The NBA Championship ring Kobe Bryant gave to his father is up for auction. The ring also features 40 diamonds, the Lakers' logo, Bryant's name and his number at the time, eight.
